Agua Cayman Islands

Agua was on my "someday" list as I drive by it several times a day and always say I'll visit it someday.

So tonight turned-out to be someday as we headed out of town heading towards home and passed the usual West Bay Road restaurants and decided to try Agua "for once".

Agua is located in Galleria Plaza which in the evening means easy parking as everywhere else is closed – unlike during the day. The actual restaurant looks very modern and open planned compared to its predecessor Cafe Med, which I always felt enclosed within.

Unfortunately the menu at 3 pages just didn't contain many dishes I'd actually enjoy. Yes that's just my "special" taste.

So for starter I opted for a Caprese Salad which arrived as three slices of tomato layered with 4 slices of mozzarella cheese on a very large plate – the kind of size that makes me think they're more concerned with presentation over quantity. Fortunately the salad was lovely and I'll need to ask what oil they use on it!

For the main I choose a Herbs "Infused" Mahi with a large portion of veggies – this time the plate matched the size of the food. The fish was very nice and the small potatoes were lovely.

Total bill $80 for two.

Will I go back? yeah probably, someday another year.
