Dinner at Dada’s Grill, Cayman Islands

Sometimes neither of us can be bothered to cook, so we choose to “eat out” – tonight the venue was Dada’s. Since it moved from Eastern Avenue I’ve always found the restaurant to be much better as well as much safer!

Based just along from the George Town waterfront it can provide an excellent view of a lovely sunset.

The menu was updated sometime over summer to extend the range of dishes offered from about 10 to nearer 30. Every menu item now has an accompanying photograph so the physical menu has increased from a small A5 size to a huge A3 size! This isn’t a major complaint for I guess it does help the non filipinos who visit there to get a better understanding of what they might be ordering. I guess this reminds me of the new Canton Menu.

Anyway, over the years I’ve tried a good few of the dishes so know to always order Sisig with white rice, which is a lovely fatty roast pork dish – masarap! Once in Blue Moon they have some cassava cake for me to finish with but unfortunately tonight wasn’t the night for this and I had to settle with 3 scoops of strawberry ice-cream. There are two other Filipino desserts occasionally available:

  1. Leche Flan
  2. Halo-halo

Leche Flan would be my second favorite dessert, but the Baked Beans at the bottom of the Halo-halo just doesn’t seem right to me!

On the whole this is a great place and is on my “Must go to once a month”  list:-)
